Scientology: International Association of Scientologists

20th Anniversary

Tom Cruise - Freedom Medal of Valor

I just saw a televised version of an international event that was held in the United Kingdom, and was really impressed to see the humanitarian accomplishments of Scientologists over the past year.

For me, the highlight of the event was the presentation of a very special award Tom Cruise for his many years of dedicated work to protect Scientology and Scientologists against prejudice and bigotry in countries that do not have a tradition of religious tolerance, to make Scientology solutions broadly available, to disseminate the Scientology religion and to be a real example of what it means to be a Scientologist.

One thing he said about this when he received his award was, "That's what drives me, that I know that we have an opportunity to really help for the first time, effectively change people's lives, and I am dedicated to that. I am absolutely uncompromisingly dedicated to that."

Here are just a few examples of what Tom Cruise has done.

He has taken up the cause of Scientologists in Germany who have experienced government sanctioned descrimination. Cruise: Scientology Ambassador

David Miscavige Honors L. Ron Hubbard at Yearly Scientology Event

David Miscavige

Each year Scientologists from around the world gather at the closest Scientology church on the anniversary of the birthday of Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard.

L. Ron Hubbard, whose philosophical research spanned more 55 years, is the author of Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health and the founder of the Scientology religion.

Scientology has been described as the only major world religion to emerge in the 20th Century. For as many years as I can recall, David Miscavige has been the master of ceremonies and keynote speaker of the L. Ron Hubbard birthday celebration.

Some of these speeches have been published on the Net.

"Tonight we honor mankind’s greatest friend—L. Ron Hubbard.

"And it is a far broader audience than just our fellow Scientologists who salute L. Ron Hubbard on his birthday. State governors, mayors and other officials and people from all over the world acknowledge Mr. Hubbard with special proclamations, keys to their cities and declarations of “L. Ron Hubbard Day” in their towns and communities.

"And this year, once again, L. Ron Hubbard received more awards on his birthday than ever in history...." >>

"I can think of no better place to celebrate L. Ron Hubbard’s birthday than here in Clearwater, Florida, where the application of his legacy is more evident than anywhere else on earth.

"In these last 20 years there certainly has been a lot of expansion. To give you an idea of just how far Scientology has come in those 20 years, consider these facts:

"The volume of Dianetics and Scientology books placed in the hands of individuals in one week today is greater than the total for the entirety of 1974.

"This year, more new countries were opened to Scientology than any previous year....">>

David Miscavige pays tribute to L. Ron Hubbard - March 13th 1995

"L. Ron Hubbard’s birthday celebration is the biggest event of the year. Scientologists the world over will be seeing tonight’s celebration at their local churches and missions.

"In fact, people from every continent on earth will be celebrating with us. And this year we have many countries joining us for the first time, all having been newly opened to Scientology since last year’s celebration.

"They include: Serbia, Lesotho, Croatia, Macedonia, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Gabon, Kazakhstan, Mozambique, Lithuania, St. Kitts, Slovakia, Iran, Syria, Tajikistan, St. Lucia and Lebanon....">>
