L. Ron Hubbard's Books and Lectures Restored

Restoring Mr. Hubbard’s lectures from the period was another key phase of the project. In the 1950s, Mr. Hubbard delivered hundreds of lectures to Dianeticists and Scientologists, each expanding on some aspect of the corresponding book. Although recorded, many of these lectures had never been broadly available due to lack of reproduction facilities in the Church’s formative years. An earlier project had scoured the cities where the lectures were delivered—Los Angeles, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Wichita, London, Melbourne, Johannesburg—and rounded up all known original recordings. But mass reproduction was still hindered by the poor quality of many of the originals or by their deterioration over the years. Factually, despite various restoration attempts through the years, many of the lectures had never been heard since the day they were delivered.

By the turn of the 21st century, however, computer and digital technology had advanced dramatically, and the painstaking work was begun anew—this time with result. But even then, to achieve the quality befitting the content, the Church continually pushed boundaries of existing audio technology and thereby established the world’s most sophisticated sound restoration studios. Tens of thousands of hours later, the project had successfully restored hundreds of hours of previously missing, distorted or inaudible recordings. The net result was the recovery of an enormous body of Scientology Scripture for today and forever.

From this monumental undertaking in research, verification, editorial and audio came the most dramatic achievement in the Church’s history: recovery of the very foundations of the Scientology religion. Eighteen books by L. Ron Hubbard, perfect in every detail; the corresponding lecture series for each book, 280 lectures in all, produced in-house on CD; each lecture series including verified transcripts and supplemental references; and each book and lecture series containing a massive glossary, defining words as Mr. Hubbard used them to ensure understanding by any listener; and every book and lecture reproduced and released in the world’s 15 major languages.

And that is why this is truly a Golden Age of Knowledge for every Scientologist.

As Mr. Miscavige summed it up: “And just in case you missed it—we are not speaking of ‘corrected’ manuscripts. Not ‘newly verified’ manuscripts. And definitely not just ‘repackaged.’ What we are speaking of is 100 percent unadulterated SOURCE.”

To know that they are receiving the actual material from the source of the Scientology religion, L. Ron Hubbard, is the primary goal of every Scientologist. And Mr. Miscavige made it possible.

Scientology Basics

One of the best things I've ever done has been reading the basic books and Scientology and Dianetics and listening to the lectures that go along with them. I have learned more over the past couple of years since beginning this study than in anything I've done in Scientology in the past.

Church of Scientology of Los Angeles--A Real Tribute to L. Ron Hubbard

You can see genius in the planning and execution of the remodeled Church of Scientology of Los Angeles.

L. Ron Hubbard had a vision for the Church of Scientology of Los Angeles. At the complex called the Pacifica Bridge, this is the entrance gates to Scientology for the greater LA area, and Ron planned that a person could walk through that door and travel all the way up to Clear there, walk down the block to train to audit the advanced levels of Scientology at the American Saint Hill Organization and cross the street to the Advanced Org of LA and go all the way up the Bridge to a level called OT V.

Now, the way the LA org is set up, anyone wanting spiritual freedom can walk through those doors and learn the wisdom he or she has been searching for, for eons.

You can also see David Miscavige's hand in this Church in the attention to detail and the care. For example, the furniture is ergonomically perfect. The chairs are absolutely the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in. The color scheme is so comfortable and aesthetic.

It is absolutely open to the public and there are tours and open houses so it is totally worth fitting it into your schedule. You will be able to find out to your satisfaction the answer to the question, "What is Scientology?" And if you have a group you can call and book the use of one of their conference rooms or seminar rooms.

60th Anniversary of Dianetics

<sup>May 9th is the 60th anniversary of the publication of Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. This was the book that launched a wildfire movement that has continued to this day.

Now Dianetics is experiencing a huge revival, with Dianetics groups popping up all over the world--in Africa, Bangladesh, the Philippines, all over Latin America--all over the world. Thanks to the work of David Miscavige in making sure the Dianetics book was completely restored, translated and made available, and for the new Dianetics DVD was released last summer that makes it even easier to to learn and use Dianetics.

L. Ron Hubbard's Own Philosophy

In an essay titled My Philosophy, L. Ron Hubbard once wrote: “I like to help others and count it as my greatest pleasure in life to see a person free himself from the shadows which darken his days.”

I've always been impressed with L. Ron Hubbard's care and with how true he was to his own philosophy as stated above, but now that I'm studying the Scientology basic books and lectures this has come home to me even more.

Sometimes my friends ask me about LRH, and it's not unusual that I read this quote to them. Because I believe this typifies his attitude toward life and toward other beings. He combined this with a brilliant mind and the perseverance and integrity to document and publish all his research so that anyone can study it and use it to help themselves and help others.

And the release of the new editions of the Dianetics and Scientology basic books and lectures of L. Ron Hubbard, which was announced in late June by David Miscavige, is an incredible boon to anyone who wants to learn more about the mind, the spirit and life as it is all laid out in simple if incredibly perceptive words for anyone to read or listen to.

It Makes me Feel Sick!!

Ever see something awful and it makes you actually feel physically ill? Ever wonder how the mind can turn emotional reaction into physical reaction?

Have you ever gotten really upset with someone and sometime, maybe a few hours or even a couple of days later, you came down with a cold or flu?

If you thought it might have been a coincidence, think again.

I'm reading Science of Survival by L. Ron Hubbard. This newest edition of the book, released in late June by David Miscavige. I'm on chapter 12 and I was reading along and BANG! I suddenly discovered something I'd been trying to figure out for ages!

One of my favorite quotes by L. Ron Hubbard comes from the first chapter of Self Analysis:

Are you a friend of yours?

Probably the most neglected friend you have is you. And yet every man, before he can be a true friend to the world, must first become a friend to himself.

This was a new concept when he wrote it in 1951, but even though others have spoken of this since then, Self Analysis is unique in that it WORKS, and DOES help restore self-respect and a great deal more!

The World Scene -- Has it Really Changed?

I was just reading the Dianetics book and came across one of my favorite passages.

When I first read this, America was at war and Viet Nam was where the US and the Soviet Union were squaring off. We were right in the heart of the arms race. "Terrorism" hadn't made it into our vocabulary. Al Queda had yet to be born. Iran was an ally and Iraq wasn't a subject of discussion.

The more things change the more they remain the same?

Here's the quote. I think you will see what I mean.

"No nation ever fully won a war. No nation ever finally triumphed by force of arms. No nation ever averted war by posing threat or exhibiting defense.

"Man is now faced, by these pyramiding hatreds, with weapons so powerful that Man himself may vanish from the Earth. There is no problem in the control of these weapons. They explode when and where Man tells them to explode. The problem is in the control of Man.

"There is no national problem in the world today which cannot be resolved by reason alone. All factors inhibiting a solution of the problem of war and weapons are arbitrary factors and have no more validity than the justified explanations of a their or murdered."

I recommend to anyone who really wants to do something effective about the situation we live in to read the Dianetics book. Are You Worth a Bit of Effort?

If, by dedicating a few weeks of study, you could greatly increase your understanding of yourself, your past, the people you know and people in general, wouldn't you put the time in to checking it out?

At an event held in Clearwater Florida a few weeks ago, and shown in every Scientology Church in the world over the past few weeks, David Miscavige announced the release of the Basic Scientology and Dianetics books and lectures, otherwise known simply as "The Basics."

The books are beautiful and so easy to read. They contain very comprehensive glossaries, not only of Scientology and Dianetics terms, but of other terminology that might not be fully understood. Everything has been done to make it simple read and understand these books, including an extension course anyone can enroll on to get individualized supervision by a staff member at a Scientology church to help you make sure you get it.

And these books contain the answers to so many questions.

I got my full set and have been reading them chronologically. I am amazed by the breadth of knowledge of L. Ron Hubbard and his skill as a writer in imparting it.

At the event in Florida, David Miscavige went into great detail on the books. It's an event well worth watching, and for anyone interested in learning about Scientology and Dianetics I recommend a visit to your nearest Scientology church or mission to watch it.

Ron Hubbard, announced this past week at an event by David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center in a brilliant speech that described all the work that went into the project.

These books are absolutely beautiful. But that's not all. Because all the original tape recorded lectures describing the research that went into these books have now also come out in CD form, with glossaries and transcripts. All totally state of the art!

A Milestone Year

Fabulous event this year in honor of Ron's birthday. They just keep getting better, every year. This year there was an absolutely wonderful set of video interviews with people who were there with LRH in the really early days of Dianetics and Scientology.

And the other thing I love about the March 13th events is the news about the winning churches and missions. All Scientology churches and missions compete against one another and the church and mission with the best expansion for the year wins.

This year it was a real surprise - a Church I've never seen in the running - the Church of Scientology of Denmark. And boy were they excited!

To me, when I hear how well our churches are doing, how many new Volunteer Ministers are coming on board, how many books are being distributed, that's fantastic news because it is an index of how many people are learning priceless information that is making their own lives better and is rippling out into the environment.

I also loved hearing David Miscavige. I always look forward to the briefings he gives us at events. For every event he gives an overview of the best expansion news of recent months. And Mr. Miscavige usually ends the evening with a special message to Scientologists.

I walked out of this event determined to do more and help more and reach out to people like never before.

No matter how many years I'm in Scientology, when I read a book or listen to a taped lecture by L. Ron Hubbard I am again struck with Ron's brilliance, and how much he cared.

So for me, it's going to be a lot more volunteering this year. I've also set myself some new resolutions (March vs. New Years) as to my progress as a Scientologist.
